The Cardboard Box

1762306

I found a box today

of old memories,

Letters on paper that now appear to be sad scrawls,

Are you lost or am I losing it?

I don’t see you anywhere,

Your words I put to flame and saw them turn to dust,

Sadly, I was unaware,

That somewhere along time,

You set yourself ablaze too,

You turned to ashes,

Only to rise again,

But I barely recognize you anymore,

I can’t hold on to the dust,

It will only slip away.
